"I had the opportunity to meet Joseph Garcia in my Law Enforcement class during my senior year of high school.  With his prior experience in policing, he was filled with knowledge and had appropriate teaching methods.  He wasn't like other teachers; he took time out of his weekends to put together hands-on scenarios to help us comprehend the subjects he was teaching us.  He had a unique way of making an instructional environment fun while learning.  My class, the advanced class, was notably smaller than the other classes.  Being smaller helped create heart-to-heart conversations on the learning topic or life lessons, where we could openly share our thoughts and concerns.  With these candid discussions that he had with my class and the others, he connected with us on how to push ourselves to be better.  With this, he became a person everyone trusted and felt safe around.  In the one year I spent with Mr. Garcia, I had learned more than the two previous years; he goes above and beyond in everything he does!  He doesn't have to become a friend, but he does.

"Having Mr. Garcia in a class was one of the best high school experiences for me.
